Abbotsford News - Lance Wust arrested in Abbotsford

Abbotsford's new gang suppression unit made its first arrest on Friday, when habitual offender Lance Wust was taken into custody.

The squad, in cooperation with other units, executed a search warrant at a home in the 36000 block of Old Yale Road. Wust and another male, who has not been named, were stopped not far from the residence in a black Ford pickup truck.

Both were connected to the home, where police seized a loaded handgun, ammunition, two bulletproof vests, cash and Oxycontin.

The two men were taken into custody without incident.

Wust faces three firearms-related charges, as well as one charge of possession for the purposes of trafficking.

He has an extensive history with police in several jurisdictions.
